Two new videos from two eek linked artists came out this week, and both are a little bit good.
The first is from French duo Copenhagen. Taken from their forthcoming album, the track is called ‘Sail away with me’ and you can see the haunting video on their blog
This week also sees the release of the first live footage from Death Rattle. Filmed live for Dod Magazine in Bilbao at the end of 2011. ‘Built you a fire’ will be included on their debut album which is to be released later in the year.
It’s been a busy week! I got back from Holland late Friday night after spending a few days hanging out with BlackBoxRed and giving a talk and workshop at the academievoorpopcultuur. The trip ended up being a bit special as we got to record in an incredible space in the city’s old prison!!
We used the corridors for some beautiful natural reveb and had a bit of a mess around with some cool stereo mic’ing.
Also this week saw the release of Copenhagen’s self titled debut through our very own imprint. Theres only 100 of these available, all printed by my fair hands. Grab a copy from the SHOP .
And finally, I spent the weekend recording a new track with Killington fall at the warehouse. The track is a bit of a monster, so much so that we were shut down by the council… Luckily we got what was needed done. The track should be out sometime in the new year.
This week I’ll be heading out to Leeuwarden in Holland to do a talk about all things Eek! Taking place at the Academievoorpopcultuur, Ill be talking about my experiences recording in strange locations and recording your own music etc etc etc…. I’ll also be doing a day workshop about recording on location.
The talk will start at around 1pm on Wed the 14th and the workshop will be the following day.
Really excited to anounce our third release on Eek!
Copenhagen’s beautiful yet dark self titled debut comes out on the 19th of Decmber and is available on pre-order from the EEK WEBSHOP. Only 100 hand printed copies available.
I have eloped to the darkest corner of Normandy for the next month to write and record an album. Lots of exciting info soon. If you need to get in touch I will be checking my emails every few days so feel free to drop me a line.
